Proxy Parent Foundation helps bridge the gap between the public and private sectors of the mental health system. Proxy Parent Foundation is a nonprofit, California corporation dedicated to assisting people with disabilities by:
• Safeguarding access to public entitlement funds through the administration of PLAN of California Special Needs Trusts
• Providing “family like” Personal Support Services for people with mental illness and other brain disorders
For many families Proxy Parent Foundation helps answer the question: Who will care when I’m not there? Proxy Parent Foundation provides necessary documents enabling a disabled person or their family to join a PLAN of California Special Needs Trust. Proxy Parent Foundation acts as the trustee of the PLAN of California Master Pooled Trust and utilizes professional trust administrators and investment advisors to manage assets.
Just like a caring family, Proxy Parent Foundation, through its Personal Support Services, helps coordinate public and private social services and medical care for its PLAN of California Special Needs Trust recipients by acting as a “proxy parent” -- becoming a friend and advocate for those with mental illness and other brain disorders.
